The Venue

Love is our religion.
From the very beginning, we knew we didn’t want just a fancy venue defined by trends or traditions that didn’t feel like ours. We wanted a place where everyone would belong, where every guest would feel welcome, and where our wedding would feel true, simple, and elegant.
Dreaming of Timelessness
We imagined something timeless, the kind of place we could see in our wedding album decades from now and still feel proud, knowing it would never lose its grace.
Because José is a farmer with deep roots in wine, we first dreamed of marrying at a winery. There was something beautiful about the idea of standing among rows of vines, surrounded by the scent of the land, beginning our marriage with that blend of nature, history, and generations of hard work and dedication.
But as romantic as the wineries were, they couldn’t give us what we truly needed: a setting where we could stand together, surrounded by everyone we love, and promise our lives to each other.
The Dream
The Dream: Palacio Miramar, San Sebastian, Spain
I fell deeply for Miramar Palace in San Sebastián, a royal residence with sweeping sea views over La Concha Bay (Playa La Concha). Built in 1893 at the request of Queen Maria Cristina, it has gardens that seem to float above the water, with views stretching across the bay to Santa Clara Island, and the kind of history you can feel in the air. The white walls and blue trim of Miramar inside walls reminded me so much of Sidi Bou Saïd back home, that same blend of sky, sea, and nostalgia that makes your heart ache a little.
It was my dream.
But it was far, too far, for our families. And family comes first. Seeing their joy, sharing our sacred day with them, meant more than any view in the world. So we let that dream go.
The Destiny

And then we discovered Palacio de la Vega, nestled in Dicastillo, Navarra. A place that felt like destiny.
Built in the late 19th century by the Countess María Diega Desmaisières, part of the ancient nobility of Navarra. This neo-Gothic palace blends British Victorian design with medieval echoes: a square tower, an octagonal one, arched windows, gable molding, and a heraldic coat of arms above the entrance.
The palace rises gently on its hill, surrounded by gardens that seem to never end. The gardens stretch wide and welcoming, the tower rises into the sky, and the stone walls seem to breathe the memories of another time. It is majestic yet warm, the rare kind of beauty that leaves you waowed but somehow makes you feel at home.
It has everything. It is the kind of place you have to see to understand.
What truly sealed our choice was the team. Inés and everyone from Restaurante Marisol were not just polite, they were invested. They answered every question, shared their knowledge, and made us feel safe planning from afar.
Palacio de la Vega gave us everything we dreamed of: history, beauty, and a space where everyone we love will feel at home.
